For the third consecutive match and 12
th time this season, the Northern State volleyball team swept an opponent on the way to victory Saturday as the No. 25 Wolves defeated Upper Iowa 25-15, 25-8 and 27-25 in Aberdeen. The win is Northern's eighth-straight.
Kelsey Chambers had a monster match for the Wolves a she tied a career-high with 23 kills in the win while hitting .595. Chambers also added eight digs and three block assists.
Macey Finizio added eight kills, seven digs and two aces on the night. While
Tori Biach chipped in with seven kills and also led the team with four total blocks in the sweep.
Drew Smith was solid setting up the Wolves offense on the day. Smith finished with 42 assists and also had eight digs and a pair of aces in the match. Meanwhile, the back row of
Sami Nygaard and
Renee Hoffman had 17 and seven digs, respectively.
Northern held a .321 to .082 attack advantage in the match. It is the 10
th time this season that Northern has hit better than .300. The Wolves also had a 6-to-2 ace advantage in the win.
The Wolves improve to 18-3 overall and 11-3 in conference play. Northern now faces a four-game road trip beginning next weekend as it faces Minnesota State Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. and No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul in a 4 p.m. match Nov. 2.
