ABERDEEN, S.D. –
The Winona State Warriors took advantage of a stiff, gusting west wind that carried to ball well to the left side of the field, belting a slew of home runs in a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victories over the Northern State Wolves on Saturday afternoon.  WSU, which reached the NCAA national finals a season ago, took a 16-9 victory in Game 1 before closing out the series with a 35-6 win in seven innings.

NSU drops to 10-17 on the season and 5-9 in league play with the setbacks, while the Warriors improve to 12-13 overall and an even 7-7 in the loop.

The Wolves take a brief break from NSIC play for a pair of games at Valley City State on Monday before returning home next weekend to host Wayne State in another NSIC four-game set.
