Box Score 2 VADNIAS HEIGHTS, MINN. – The Northern State women's softball team (4-0, 0-0 NSIC) continued in the second and final day of games in the dome of Vadnias Heights, Minnesota. In a mirror image of the previous day, the Wolves picked up two wins to push their early season record to 4-0, the best start in at least 15 years for the Wolves.
The Wolves defeated Minnesota State University Moorhead 13-5 while picking up their second victory in as many days over the University of Minnesota-Duluth 7-5.
Playing as the visiting team against MSU Moorhead, the Wolves placed 13 first inning runs on the board. The scoring got started as
Eryn Yancy drew a bases loaded walk with no outs.
Rachel South followed up with a single to left field scoring
Brooke Norris and Whitey Luhring. The Wolves sent 11 batters to the plate before the Dragons recorded the first out of the game.
Northern State secured ten hits, with a 3-4 performance from
Brittany Huback, while scoring 13 runs.
Ashley Gabler drove in three run while scoring a run on two hits.
Kelli Bornander picked up her second win of the season pitching 4.2 innings, giving up five hits.
In the 7-5 over the Bulldogs, the Wolves fell bhind 5-2 before rallying in the bottom of the fifth with five runs to take the lead.
Freshman
Eryn Yancy hit a grand slam for the Wolvse while going 2-3, driving in four run.
Ashley Gabler also used the long ball to pick up her first home run on the season.

Kami Smesmo pitched her second consecutive complete game victory, giving up five runs on 12 hits in seven innings while striking out six.
The Wolves will now head south to Florida for a week of games playing first on Sunday March 4 against Dominican College of New York.
