ABERDEEN, S.D. – The cold weather caused some cold offense for the Northern State University baseball squad Saturday, as the visiting Vikings of Augustana College took a doubleheader sweep from the Wolves with scores of 25-0 and 14-0 in NSIC play at Fossum Field in Aberdeen, S.D.
The losses bring the Wolves record to 5-39 overall and 2-24 in the Northern Sun.
The Wolves had trouble getting their offense going from the get-go in only producing four hits over the two games and no runs. The Vikings, on the other hand, exploded for a combined 40 hits over the same span with 39 runs scored.
Nathan Zacher went a combined 2-4 over the two games with a walk to lead the Wolves offensively.
Adam Brion went 1-5 over the two games with a walk.
The two teams will reconvene tomorrow for another twinbill starting at noon at Fossum Field.
