La Moure, N.D. – The Northern State University baseball team ran into a former nationally ranked opponent Sunday in the form of the St. Cloud State Huskies, and were swept by the now NSIC leaders by scores of 14-1, 7-0, and 15-2 in a three game series at Townsend Field in La Moure, N.D.

The location of the game was changed Saturday night after rain canceled the first doubleheader that was scheduled for yesterday afternoon.

The losses bring the Wolves season record to 5-36 with a 2-21 mark in the Northern Sun.

The story in all three games was the Huskies' ability to hit, and the opposite for Northern State after the #4 ranked team in the region out hit the Wolves 36-15 in the two games.  The defensive edge also went to the Huskies after they watched the Wolves commit seven defensive miscues while going errorless on their own end.

Ronnie Sellers led the team in their three-game series and hit .444 with four hits in nine at bats.  He hit the lone NSU round-tripper during the series in the third game.

Kyle Nemec went 2-6 during two games with a double and a RBI.

The Wolves will close out their nonconference schedule on Wednesday when they travel to Madison, S.D. to face Dakota State.

Northern State University is an NCAA Division II affiliated school participating in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and is located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
