Minot State grabs two from Wolves

MESA, Ariz.  The Northern State University baseball team failed to get their bats going once again Friday in losing to the Minot State Beavers by scores of 15-0 and 14-0 Friday at the RussMatt Greater Phoenix Invite in Mesa, Ariz.

 

The losses bring the Wolves to a 2-11 record on the season.

 

The first game featured just four hits by the Wolves compared to 15 by the Beavers.

 

The Northern State bats just never got going and saw their starter, Sean Ramahlo get touched up for 11 runs (six earned) on 1-1/3 innings pitched in taking the loss on the mound. 


James Paul, Nathan Zacher, and Lucas Jung each recorded 1-3 effots at the plate to lead Northern.

 

In the second game, the same story applied with the Wolves only registering two hits in absorbing a 14-0 loss. 

On the hill for the Wolves was Ben Buckingham who registered six runs (five earned) on 10 hits in six innings of work.  J.J. Martin filled in relief giving up eight earned runs on seven hits in one inning of relief.

 

Nathan Zacher finished 1-3 and Kelly Coates finished 1-2 in leading the Wolves offensively in the game.

 

Northern State will finish out their stay in Arizona tomorrow with a doubleheader against Dickinson State.

 

Northern State University is an NCAA Division II affiliated school participating in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and is located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
