WAYNE, Neb. – The third-ranked Wayne State University Wildcats put the brakes on a three-game Northern State University win streak with a 3-0 (25-16, 28-26, 25-18) win over the Wolves Friday evening in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball action.
The Wolves, who had won four of five entering this weekend's action, slipped to 12-10 overall and 4-9 in conference play, while the Wildcats moved to 20-2 on the season and 11-2 in league matches.

Jordan Schaffer had 14 kills on 33 attempts to pace the Wolves, while freshman
Paula Martins knocked down five kills on 12 attempts without an error in her first return to action after missing the previous five matches with a foot injury.
WSC's Tali Fredrickson had a game-best 16 kills, while Jennifer Hefner added 14. The pair paced the Wildcats to a .272 hitting percentage on the night.
Despite having just two blocks in the match, the Wildcats notched 81 digs and took advantage of 27 total NSU errors. The Wolves committed 16 errors at the net and hit .156 overall despite a .258 performance in set two. The two teams battled through 11 ties and five lead changes before the Wildcats rallied for the 28-26 win to go up two sets to none at the break.
WSC then raced out to a 15-6 lead in the third set before cruising to the 25-18 win the seal the match victory.
The Wolves are back on the road on Saturday, as they take on in-state rival Augustana in another NSIC match-up. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
