Beavers Dam Up Wolves for 3-1 Win

BEMIDJI, MINN. – The Beavers of Bemidji State handed the Northern State University volleyball team their third-straight loss Tuesday by a score of 3-1 at the BSU Gymnasium in Bemidji, Minnesota. Set scores for the match were 25-23, 21-25, 24-26, and 21-25.

 

The Wolves had three players with 10+ kills in the match with sophomore Kayla Ysteboe leading the way with 17 kills, including three assists and nine digs, which eclipses her previous career-high of 15 she set earlier this year against MSU-Billings. Melanie Perez added 13 kills and 17 digs, and Jill Rasmussen rounded out the 10+ front-line with 11 kills.

 

Megan Gilbraith contributed nine digs and three kills to go along with her 42 assists, and recently named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week Stephanie Nygaard added 23 digs to her season total, bringing it to 96 in conference play.

The Wolves now stand 9-4 overall and 1-3 in the NSIC.

 

The Wolves return home for a weekend home-stand when #8 Southwest Minnesota State comes in to Aberdeen on Friday and the Minnesota State University-Mankato Mavericks invade town on Saturday.

 

Northern State University is an NCAA Division II member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and is located in Aberdeen, S.D.
