ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University volleyball team dropped its first conference game of the season Friday to a very tough Wayne State College team. Both teams entered the match with an overall record of 9-1, and the Wildcats emerged victorious in three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-20, and 25-11. The Wolves record now stands at 9-2 on the season, with a conference mark at 1-1.
Megan Gilbraith led the offense with 26 assists and also added seven digs and two assisted-blocks. Kayla Ysteboe led the front with ten kills and also added nine digs of her own in the loss. Senior Melanie Perez tallied five kills and 10 digs, and senior Stephanie Nygaard led the defensive effort with 15 digs.

The Wolves are in action again tomorrow against Augustana College starting at 4:00 p.m. inside of Wachs Arena. Fans that bring a non-perishable item to the game get a coupon for free popcorn which is redeemable at either the volleyball game, or the football game tomorrow night vs. St. Cloud State.
