BILLINGS, Mont. – The Northern State University volleyball team wrapped up its weekend in fine shape, as the Wolves grabbed two more wins at the MSU-Billings Tournament to bring their weekend record to 3-1, and improving their overall record to 8-1 on the season.
The Wolves faced off against a tough University of Hawaii-Hilo (9-3) team in their morning game, and emerged with a hard-fought 3-2 win. The Wolves lost the first two sets by scores of 25-16 and 25-17, but then rebounded to win the final three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 15-11.
Senior Kelsey Aden led the front once again with 14 kills and she also added nine digs. Megan Gilbraith paced the offense with 38 assists, and also notched six digs on the defensive end. Stephanie Nygaard added 23 digs to her season total and Melanie Perez contributed nine kills.

In the second game, the host Yellowjackets of MSU-Billings (2-10) attempted to give the Wovles a run, but eventually faltered, as Northern won 3-1. The scores for each set were 25-16, 25-18, 23-25, and 25-19.
Aden led the line again with 19 kills, and added a new career game-high 16 digs. Megan Gilbraith had 49 assists and 10 digs, Kayla Ysteboe pounded down a career game-high 16 kills to go along with her seven digs. Melanie Perez had nine kills and 12 digs in the win.

The Wolves face off against the University of Mary on September 16th in Bismark, N.D. before coming home to the friendly confines of Wachs Arena for their first home game on September 19th against Wayne State.
