Tyler Bauman started the game on the rubber for the Wolves, putting the Mustangs down 1-2-3 in the first inning. A lead-off double came around to score in the second, but it was the only run allowed by Bauman through three innings. Things started to unwind for the sophomore hurler in the fourth inning as he gave up nine hits and six runs in his final three innings of work, leading to the 7-0 loss.

Josh Taylor notched hits for the Wolves, while

The Wolves jumped on the board early in the second game and gave starting pitcher
Lucas Jung a two-run lead to work with. Jung started the game a bit rocky, hitting the first batter and walking the second, but recovered with three straight outs to strand the runners and get out of the inning.
The freshman hurler faced no more than four batters in each of the next five innings to keep the Mustangs off the board. Two doubles were marked, but the runners never moved past the second bag. The Wolves added a security run in the sixth inning, with Keiser singling to center and scoring on a
Nathan Zacher double to right center. The run would prove necessary as Southwest scored two in their final at-bat, but Zacher came in to relieve Jung for the final three outs and earned the save.
Jung pitched into the seventh inning, giving up just five hits, one walk and one earned run while striking out three. He is 1-1 on the year. Zacher made the team's first save of the season, gaining a strikeout and giving up two hits and a run. Keiser went 1-for-2 with a sacrifice fly and a run scored.
Matt Tales and Zacher each went 1-for-3 with RBIs.
The Wolves are on the road this weekend, playing at Upper Iowa on Saturday and Sunday.
