GAME 1 BOX SCORE
Matt Geissler pitched a complete game, allowing the Warriors just six hits through six innings of work. Unfortunately for the Wolves, the majority of Winona's hits came in groups to get the team on the board. Geissler walked only two batters and hit another two for free passes to first base, a drastic improvement over recent pitching performances for the Wolves. But Winona took advantage of many of these breaks to add to their lead.
A three run third inning was followed by two additional runs in the fourth, putting the Warriors up 6-0. The Wolves did not get their first hit until the sixth inning, when
James Paul led the team off with a single to center field. He later came around to score on a Warrior error for the only run of the game. NSU's second hit of the game went to
Scott Iano in the seventh inning.

GAME 2 BOX SCORE
Northern State had more offensive success in the second game of the day, notching seven hits. They stranded five runners, however, and only put two runs on the board.
Andy Berkler entered the game in the fifth inning and started things off with a lead-off solo homerun for the Wolves' first run. Northern's other run came in the seventh inning as the team came up with three singles.
Lucas Jung was the runner to cross the plate, scoring on a passed ball.
The Warriors attacked the Northern defense with 13 hits in game 2. Winona's first two runs both came from lead-off solo dingers in the second and third innings. Three hits and two NSU errors led to another three runs in the fourth inning as the Warriors to a 5-0 advantage. They went on to score two more runs in the fifth thanks to a number of hits and a walk before taking the game 7-2.
Brock Pashen (1-3) took the loss for the Wolves after 4.1 innings on the mound. He struck out two batters and gave up 11 hits and six earned runs.
Tyler Bauman came in for 1.2 innings of relief, striking out two but not allowing a run.
Andrew Lunsetter went 2-for-3 at the plate, while NSU's other five hits came from five different players. The only RBI of the game for Northern was Berkler's solo shot.
