MARSHALL, Minn. – The Northern State University volleyball squad closed out their season Saturday in Marshall, Minn. with a 3-0 loss at the hands of #8 Southwest Minnesota State. Set scores for the match were 15-25, 19-25, and 24-26.

The Wolves were led on the offensive end by
Jill Rasmussen who ended the match with 10 kills on .240 hitting. Rasmussen was followed by
Claire Kopfmann and Caitlin Oelke who recorded four kills a piece in the loss.
Megan Gilbraith had 16 assists to go along with three service-aces and three digs, and
Stephanie Nygaard led the defense with eight digs.
The Wolves close out their 2008 season with a 15-15 overall record and a 6-14 mark in the NSIC.
This was the final game for Northern State seniors
Melanie Perez and
Stephanie Nygaard. It is also the final match for
Jill Rasmussen who, only a junior, will be forgoing her last year of eligibility for academic purposes.
Coach
Lisa Schriver will get her 200th career win in NSU's first victory next season.
Northern State is a NCAA Division-II member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and is located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
