Ysteboe, Meiser Fuel Wolves 3-0 Win With Career-Highs

ABERDEEN, S.D. – A very inspired Northern State University volleyball team downed the Beavers of Bemidji State Friday at Wachs Arena in three-straight sets by scores of 25-19, 26-24, and 25-12. 

Kayla Ysteboe set a new career-high with 18 kills in leading the offense.  Her previous careeer high was 17 kills, an amount she pounded out last time the two teams met on September 23rd.  The real story of the evening came in the form of freshman Becka Meiser, Ysteboe's partner in crime, who swatted down a career-high 15 kills, and led the team in hitting percentage at a very impressive .464 clip.  Those two players accounted for 33 of Megan Gilbraith's team leading 38 assists, and together accounted for 23 total digs on defense. 

Along with her 38 assists, Gilbraith recorded 14 digs on defense while Stephanie Nygaard led the team with 28 digs to increase her in-NSIC Conference total of now 258 on the year to lead the league.  Melanie Perez accounted for 12 digs and Jill Rasmussen contributed 11, to go along with their combined eight assisted-blocks on the evening.

With the win, the Wolves improve to 13-8 overall on the year, including 4-7 in the very tough Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

The Wolves host #16 Minnesota-Duluth tomorrow afternoon with a game time slated for a 3:00 p.m. start.
