ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Wolves soccer team spared no time in scoring their first goals against MSU Moorhead Wednesday afternoon. They booted in two goals within the first four minutes of what ended as a 5-0 shutout over the Dragons at Jerde Field. Northern is now 5-2-1 on the season and 1-0-0 in NSIC play. The Dragons are 2-5-0 overall and 0-1-0 in NSIC play. The game was a regional, non-conference game.

It took a fiery Wolves squad and Katie Bronson (So., Spokane, Wash.) just :27 seconds to take a lead in the game. Kendra Titze (Fr., Aberdeen, S.D.) took a shot on goal, which was deflected by the MSUM keeper and drilled home by Bronson. The team continued to dominate the field and drove in their second goal of the game at the 3:54 mark with a Maggie Fedor (Fr., Monticello, Minn.) feed to Kendra Titze. Fedor earned her own goal just minutes later as she put a ball high over keeper Pearson and into the net. Alisha Martinez (So., Westmister, Colo.) received the assist at the 8:49 mark.

Six of the Wolves' ten shots in the half went on goal as NSU took a 3-0 lead going into the break. The Dragons had just two shots, one on goal, in the half.

Northern leaped out of the locker room and hustled to put another notch in the game early in the second half. Fedor struck again with a feed from Kirsten Saunders (R-Fr., Englewood, Colo.) to put the Wolves up 4-0 at the 53:54 mark of the game. Northern keeper Dee Wood (Fr., Bothell, Wash.) denied the Dragon attack by making four additional saves in the second half. As the crowd counted down toward the NSU win, Stephanie Connolly (Jr., Red Deer, Alberta) drilled a 40-yard shot that snuck into the MSUM goal. There were three ticks remaining on the clock as the Wolves went up 5-0.

Fedor had 4-of-5 shots go on-goal for the Wolves Wednesday afternoon. Her two goals and an assist were good for five points, setting her season mark at a team high 15 points. Titze is NSU's second-leading scorer with three goals and three assists on the season. Bronson and Connolly each marked their second goals of the year in the win. Wood earned her first collegiate win as a keeper and also her first career shutout.

The Wolves take their winning record on the road with them as they face five NSIC opponents on their home turfs in the upcoming weeks. NSU's next game is slated for September 16 against the University of Mary, followed by games at UM, Crookston and Bemidji State on September 22 and 23, respectively. They return home for an 11:30 am meeting with Wayne State on October 6.
