Prep: Clay Gates is a 5-foot-7, 133-pounder out of Collinsville High School. He was a 4-year starter and team captain for the Cardinal under the direction of head coach Mike Kiem. Gates was a 4-time regional and state place winner. He won three region championships, was a 2-time state runner-up, and the 2021 Oklahoma State Championship. Gates tallied 126 career victories, going 44-6 overall his senior season. Collinsville took second at the state tournament in 2022, after three state championships from 2020-22. He is the son of James and Denise Gates.
