From 2021 to 2022 Helleloid lowered his ERA from 4.145 to 1.156 and his WHIP from 1.697 to 1.018. He also totaled 77 strikeouts during his high school career. In 2022 he was named first team all-state and was a finalist for player of the year in South Dakota. He is the son of Dave and Wendy Helleloid.
