2017-18: From the NSIC Championships, Fomina placed eighth in the 100 Free with a time of 52.31--a new school record, and eighth in the 200 Free with a time of 1:54.88...Fomina also broke the school record in the 50 Free with a time of 24.14, and was part of the 400 Free Relay team that broke the school record coming in at 3:30.70…

Prep: Julia Fomina is a 5-foot-3, freestyle and butterfly swimmer out of Ryazan, Russia. She holds personal records of 52.54 in the 100 free, 25.72 in the 50 fly, and 57.90 in the 100 fly (converted times). Fomina is a 2-time winner of the International Makrolon Cup in Germany and a 2014 winner of the Head Summer Cup in Sweden. She has qualified for the Open Championships in Belarus, the Russian Championships in Kazan, and the Russian Championships in Moscow. Fomina is a 3-year captain of her regional team, and is in the top-20 in her age group nationally. She is the daughter of Larisa Fomina and Alexander Fomin.
