Pre-NSU: Mikey Adams is a 6-foot, 200-pound shortstop out of Clearwater, Florida. At Countryside High School he hit .355 and was named to the All-Conference honorable mention team. Adams went on to play two seasons at Iowa Lakes Community College, where he received his associate of arts. As a freshman, he hit .260 with seven homeruns and a .924 fielding percentage. In his second season, Adams hit .261 with seven homeruns and a .905 fielding percentage.
