Prep: Thomas Risty is a 6-foot-1, 235-pound defensive lineman out of Brandon Valley High School. He was a 3-year starter and team captain for the Lynx under the direction of head coach Matt Christensen. In the fall of 2023, Risty tallied 45 tackles, including 9.0 sacks, one blocked field goal, one blocked punt, and one fumble recovery. He was a 2-time all-conference selection and 2023 all-state and all-metro honoree. Risty is team state powerlifting state champion, as well as a school and state record holder in the event. In addition, Brandon Valley was the 2021 South Dakota State Runner-up. He is the son of Jeremy and Rebecca Risty.
