Prep: McCarty is a 6-foot-5, 190-pound, wide receiver out of Rochester Mayo High School. He is a 2-year starter and senior team captain for the Spartans under head coach Donny Holcomb. As a senior, McCarty earned Academic All-State, All-District, and All-Conference honors. McCarty tallied six touchdowns and 584 yards on 34 receptions in his senior campaign, averaging 17.2 yards per catch. The Spartans were the 2014 Section 1AAAAA Runner-Up and the 2014 and 2015 All-City Champions. McCarty also participates in baseball for Rochester Mayo where he is a 2-year letter winner. He is the son of Greg and Sandra McCarty.
