2017: Started in all 11 games for the Wolves… Led the Northern State offense with 1,061 yards rushing on 147 carries… First 1,000 yard rusher since 2003… Third overall in the NSIC, averaging 96.5 yards per game and 7.2 per rush… Rushed for 15 rushing touchdowns on the year and a season long 72-yard touchdown against MSU Moorhead… First on the team in scoring with 96 total points for the Wolves... Named NSIC Player of the Week twice this season, back to back weeks… Named to the D2Football.com National Offensive Player of the Week vs Minnesota Crookston… Named to the All-Conference First Team… 

2016:  Started all 11 games for the Wolves... Led the Northern State offense with 986 rushing yards and 208 total carries...  Fifth overall in the NSIC, averaging 89.6 yards per game and 4.7 yards per rush… Rushed for nine touchdowns on the year and recorded a season long 75-yard rush against Minot State… Second on the team in scoring with 60 total points for the Wolves... Named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention Team...

2015: Started nine games for the Wolves… Led the team with 621 yards rushing on 140 carries… Averaged 4.4 yards per carry and 69.0 yards per game… Recorded six rushing touchdowns… Added 114 yards receiving on 15 receptions with one touchdown… One of two Wolves to record a team leading six touchdowns on the year… Second on the team in all-purpose yards with 735 and in total offense with 621… 

2014: Appeared in 11 games, starting ten for the Wolves… Recorded one tackle versus University of Mary… Led the team with 154 carries for 820 yards and four touchdowns… Tallied a season high 152 yards rushing versus MSU Moorhead… Notched 24 catches for 240 yards and five touchdowns… Recorded two receiving touchdowns in a game versus U-Mary and Bemidji State… Second on the team with 1060 all-purpose yards… 

2013: Redshirt season

Before Northern: Truen earned All-Suburban East Conference and Honorable Mention All-Metro selection in 2012 after rushing for 508 yards on 62 carries as a senior. He was also named as his team's MVP for his efforts. Truen was also an all-conference performer on the lacrosse team during his junior season, helping lead his team to a conference championship in 2011.
