Biography

Prep: A three-sport athlete and 4-year football letter winner at Garden County High School under the direction of Jason Spady, Russell will continue his gridiron career with the Wolves next fall.  Russell recorded 128 tackles, 14 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and a sack on the defensive squadron for the GCHS Eagles, earning him First Team All-Minuteman Athletic Conference, First Team All-District, First Team All-Panhandle and Honorable Mention All-State honors in the process.  The Eagles were 10-1 that season and advanced to the state quarterfinals.  Russell also earned Honorable Mention All-State accolades as a junior after recording 97 tackles, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, two sacks and three interceptions.  Also an accomplished wrestler, Russell advanced to the Nebraska state wrestling tournament in 2009 and 2010.  Outside of athletics, Russell is highly active in a variety of extra-curricular and community activities, including student council (serves as the student body president), drama, speech, youth group, Garden County Drug Free Coalition, Boys State and scholastics competitions.
