Prep: Joe Merchlewitz is a 5-foot-10, 200-pound catcher out of East Ridge High School. He was a 2-year starter for the Raptors under the direction of head coach Brian Sprout. Merchlewitz hit .381 as a senior, including a .444 average during the playoffs. East Ridge won the 2023 Minnesota State Championship. He is the son of Jim and Mindy Merchlewitz.
