WOLVES VOLLEYBALL TAKES THE 3-0 DUB OVER THE MARAUDERS

Aberdeen, S.D. – Wolves volleyball took to the court Saturday, September 26 as they hosted the University of Mary. Northern swept the Marauders to take the victory on homecoming weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Northern State took control of the match early and pulled out the victory with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, and 25-14
  • The Wolves scored 58 points and had 46 kills, 41 assists, and 44 digs, while hitting .396 as a team
  • The defense held the Marauders to a .068 attack percentage and forced 21 errors
  • After a 16-16 tie in the opening set, Northern scored five of the next seven points to take a 21-18 lead; back-to-back Linnea Nesheim kills closed out the set
  • NSU jumped out to a 9-2 advantage in the second set and never looked back, finishing the frame on a 5-1 run
  • A four-point run early in the third set gave Northern a 10-7 lead; the Wolves later built a 20-12 advantage before closing out the sweep on a 4-0 run
  • Katelyn Schroeder and Nesheim led the Wolves with 13 kills each; Schroeder added 13 kills, 11 digs, and an ace
  • Morissen Samuels hit .500 with nine kills, two digs, and three block assists while Victoria Persha added six kills, hitting .462, and recorded five block assists herself
  • Ava Nilsson directed the offense with 37 assists; she added four kills, six digs, an ace, and three block assists on the night
  • Ashley Yost contributed 11 digs, three assists, an ace, and a block assist; Sara Moberg added six digs as Northern finished with 44 total digs
