WOLVES FALL BY ONE IN OPENING ROUND

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State's season ended at the hands of Minnesota State Moorhead as the Dragons pulled off the 68-67 overtime upset on the road. The Wolves finished the game with 67 points, 41 rebounds, 15 assists, five steals, four blocks and 15 turnovers while shooting 36.9% from the floor, 33.3% from deep and 84.6% from the free-throw line.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After trailing for the first three quarters, the Wolves quickly tied up the game in the first 15 seconds of the fourth with a 3-pointer by Makenzie Carrier
  • Carrier played efficient ball in her last game of the season, collecting ten points and shooting 66.7% from the floor and 50% from deep
  • The next nine minutes were spent fighting for superiority, with the Dragons taking a one-point lead in the fourth with under two to play
  • After a foul by Grace Massaquoi, Carli Kuyper went to the line and sank a free throw to send the game to overtime
  • The Wolves were scoreless in the first four minutes before senior guard Morgan Fiedler brought life back to the team, nailing a deep shot with under a minute to play to bring NSU within two
  • After a turnover by the Dragons, Izzy Moore fought her way into the paint to tie the game at 67 with nine seconds to go
  • Massaquoi was sent to the line with two seconds remaining and ended the Wolves' season with a made free throw
