Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team closed out their weekend at home falling to the University of Sioux Falls on Sunday. Game one went to extra innings between the two teams, while game two saw the Wolves shutout by the Cougars.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- Aune Boben led off the game for the Wolves with a home run to right and held the 1-run lead through the second
- Sioux Falls responded in the top of the third with two runs, grabbing their first lead of the game
- Eden Ford tied the game for NSU in the Wolves half of the third inning, plating Courtney Hennen on a double to left center
- The Wolves and Cougars played a scoreless final four innings and the game headed to extras, where Sioux Falls mustered up four runs in the top of the eighth
- Brooke Wolf scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh, but it was not enough to overcome the four run deficit
- Abby Rux started for NSU and suffered the loss, giving up five earned runs on eight hits with three strikeouts
- Five Wolves recorded a hit in the game, led by Boben with a home run, and Ford and Madi Jones with doubles
- Emma Owens and Hennen each tallied a single
