Bismarck, N.D. – The Northern State University offense exploded on Wednesday in Bismarck, leading the Wolves to their first NSIC sweep of the season. NSU scored 21 runs on 29 hits, while senior Abby Rux led the team in the circle, grabbing both pitching victories.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
  • The Wolves jumped on top with four runs in the second inning and added two in the fourth and one in the seventh
  • Northern scored their seven runs on 12 hits, while Abby Rux threw a complete game shutout in her sixth win of the season
  • Rux gave up eight hits and tallied eight strikeouts in the win
  • NSU's four runs in the second came off the bats of Emma Owens on an infield single (scoring Brooke Wolf), Addy Hobza on a single to center (scoring Alysa Lowe), Courtney Hennen on a ground out (scoring Owens), and Eden Ford on a ground ball (scoring Dessa Bryant)
  • Aune Boben came around to score on a wild pitch in the fourth, while Ford added the second run of the inning on a double to right center by Madi Jones
  • Avarie Eagle tacked on the final run of the contest in the seventh, plating Jones on a double to center

  • The Wolves had a big first inning in the night cap, recording seven runs on five hits
  • Aune Boben led off the contest with a walk and stole second, followed by a walk to Eden Ford
  • Madi Jones scored Boben on a single to right and the Ford-Jones pair crossed home plate on a double to left center by Tevan Bryant
  • Brooke Wolf pinch ran for Tevan Bryant and scored on a wild pitch, while Emma Owens, who was hit by a pitch, scored on Dessa Bryant's single through the right side
  • With runners on first and third, Boben returned to the plate and belted a triple to right, scoring Dessa Bryant and Courtney Hennen who singled the previous at-bat
  • The Marauders answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame, however the Wolves continued their scoring ways with two runs in the second and one in the third
  • Owens connected for a home run to left, scoring Jones in the second and Addy Hobza scored on a Ford double to center in the third
