Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team opened the final weekend of NSIC play with a pair of victories, including a walk-off win in game one. The Wolves defeated Minnesota Crookston by one run in each of the contests, scoring seven total runs on 17 hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- The Golden Eagles scored first in the top of the second and Brooke Wolf tied the game in the bottom of the frame on an errant throw
- UMC regained the lead in the fifth with two runs and held NSU scoreless in the fifth and sixth innings
- Aune Boben opened the Wolves seventh inning rally with a 2-out walk and came around to score on a single to right by Madi Jones
- Tevan Bryant stepped to the plate with runners on the corners and belted a deep double to left center, clearing the base paths for the win
- Abby Rux earned the win in the circle, her eighth of the season, throwing a complete game with three runs, two earned, on seven hits and six strikeouts
- Jones led the offense with three hits, while Avarie Eagle tallied two
- Bryant and Emma Owens recorded the two extra base hits for the team, a pair of doubles

- Northern scored their three runs in game two in the third and fourth innings, while fending off a fifth inning rally by Minnesota Crookston
- Aune Boben broke the Wolves through in the third, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Tevan Bryant to center
- In the fourth, Dessa Bryant scored on a double down the left field line by Brooke Carlson and Carlson scored following an errant throw on Aune Boben's bunt single
- The Golden Eagles stormed back in the fifth with two runs, Abby Rux entered in relief and forced the ground out to end the rally
- Rux earned the save in the win, her first of the season, throwing the final three innings without a run given up and four strikeouts
- Dessa Bryant started in the circle, throwing the first win of her Northern State career in four innings of work
- Boben led the team with three hits, including a double, followed by Dessa Bryant with two hits, including a double

Northern returns to Koehler Hall of Fame Field for the final time in 2025 tomorrow afternoon hosting Bemidji State. The Wolves and Beavers will face-off at 12 and 2 p.m. and NSU softball will honor their seniors in between games. The mobile team store will be on site for fans.
