2025 Outdoor Season Opens for NSU from Sunny Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The Northern State University track and field teams opened their 2025 outdoor season on Thursday at the Al Connie Shamrock Invite in Myrtle Beach. The meet opened with the multi events, men's hammer throw, and women's javelin.

  • Morgan Sheldon sits second in the heptathlon with 2,755 points and three events remaining; she tallied marks of 15.27 in the 100m hurdles, 1.54m in the high jump, 11.24m in the shot put, and 27.48 in the 200m
  • Addison Cumbow is in eighth in the heptathlon with 2,195 points; notching marks o f16.23 in the 100m hurdles, 1.42m in the high jump, 8.63m in the shot put, and 29.26 in the 200m
  • Jordan West is just outside of the top-10 in 11th with 2,103 points; recording marks of 18.04 in the 100m hurdles, 1.42m in the high jump, 9.58m in the shot put, and 29.84 in the 200m

Day two in Myrtle Beach opens at 9 a.m. with the multi events, followed by full team competition at 10:30 a.m. (field) and 12 p.m. (track).
