Prep: Sam Kreins is a thrower out of Damonte Ranch High School and Minot State University. As a prep, he was a 4-year letterwinner, region shot put champion, and third place state finisher in the shot put. Competing for the Beavers, Kreins qualified for three NSIC Indoor and three NSIC Outdoor Championships. In the spring of 2024, he placed seventh in the shot put. Kreins holds personal bests of 16.18m in the shot put, 51.69, in the hammer, 39.87m in the javelin, 15.71m in the weight throw, and 39.13m in the discus. He is the son of Robert and Wendy Kreins.
