WOLVES TRACK AND FIELD OPEN SEASON WITH SEVERAL TOP-10 FINISHERS

Brookings, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field team opened their 2025-26 season on Friday at the SDSU Holiday Meet. The Wolves tallied 29 top-10 finishes from the meet, including five event victories.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
  • The men's season kicked off with Jayden Munroe clinching first in the long jump with a 7.16m mark followed by Dylan Hoot in second with a mark of 6.78m
  • Jeff Boschee and Hoot secured fourth and fifth places in the high jump, clearing 2.00m and 1.95m respectively
  • Eli Radtke etched his way into the 60m hurdles top-10, marking a new personal record of 8.51, Radtke also marked a 4.70m in the pole vault earning him eighth
  • Two Wolves placed in the 600m; Gracen Hansen in seventh with a 1:23.63, followed by Carter Dingman in ninth with a 1:25.19
  • Fourth place in the triple jump was taken by Munroe as he cleared 13.92m, eighth place went to Eyuel Miftah with a 12.89m mark
  • In the men's 60m final, Chris Weber clocked a 6.92 earning him second place
  • Drew Salfrank took a first place finish in the 400m with a time of 48.89
  • Drew Henriksen came in fifth with a personal record of 50.74
  • With a time of 36.53 in the 300m, Geoffrey Mannino notched a tenth place finish
  • The men's 200m saw two Wolves in the top-10: Ty Kadlec in fifth in 22.56 and Peyton Mausbach in tenth in 22.94
  • In the 4x400m relay, the team of Salfrank, Hansen, Dingman, and Henriksen took third with a time of 3:18.52
 
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • Seven men added personal records on the day; Taylor Thorson in the 5000m with a time of 16:05.81, Ross Kortenbusch marked a 12.85m in the shot put, Radtke timed a 8.51 in the 60m hurdles prelims, Brener Conrad (7.28) and Jesse Pietz (7.34) in the 60m prelims, Kaden St. Pierre with a 14.15m mark in the weight throw, and Henriksen clocked a 50.74 in the 400m.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN  
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • Olesiak's, Walz's, and Maugest's notched personal bests in their event victories.
  • Wolves weight throwing saw personal records from Brooke Mushatt (14.70m) and Grace Kuch (12.94m).
  • Rachel Miklos marked a new pr in the 400m with a time of 1:02.03.
