Aberdeen, S.D. – Saturday's NSIC contest for the Northern State University men's basketball team slipped away in the second half with Bemidji State grabbing a 3-point win. Northern led 30-28 at the half, however the Beavers with efficient in the second shooting 54.6% from the floor.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern notched 30 points in the first and 33 in the second, while Bemidji recorded 28 points in the first and 38 in the second in a contest that saw 12 tie games and 16 lead changes; NSU held the largest lead of the contest of 12 points midway through the first half
- The Wolves led the contest with 14 points off turnovers, 12 second chance points, and seven points off the bench, adding 22 points in the paint
- They shot 34.4% from the floor, 26.7% from the 3-point line, and 84.6% from the foul line
- Bemidji State tallied 36 points in the paint, 13 points off turnovers, and 11 second chance points, shooting 46.9% from the floor, 22.2% from the 3-point line, and 80.0% from the foul line
- Each team recorded 37 rebounds, while the Wolves added a game leading 12 assists, eight 3-pointers, and six steals
- Joshua Book led three in double figures with 22 points, dishing out a team best three assists as well
- Simon Akena and James Glenn followed with 12 and ten points respectively; Akena led the team shooting 55.6% from the floor
- Benjamin Bowen and Tobi Obiora led the team with eight rebounds each, adding eight and seven points respectively
