Northern State Swimming Falls to University of Mary and Southwest Minnesota State

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University swim team was unable take the gold Saturday morning, losing 122-101 against Southwest Minnesota State and 130-84 against the University of Mary. The Wolves record 12 top three finishes on the day.
 
 
WOLVES HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jacie Flockhart kicked the day off for Northern State with a first place finish in the one meter dive with a score of 228.07
  • In the 200 medley relay, a team of Mia Fursedonne, Marie Loest, Joclyn Dirksen, and Emma Moore finished third hitting the wall at 1:58.71
  • Abbegael Nynas kept the Wolves rolling with a second place finish in the 1000 free with a time of 11:25.89
  • Haley Osborne and Moore took first and second in the 200 free with times of 2:01.41 and 2:03.74 respectively
  • Mazie Finch finished in second place with a time of 25.87 in the 50 free
  • Brianna Back recorded a time of 2:22.72 in the 200 IM for a third place finish
  • In the 100 free, Laila Gordillo took second place hitting the wall at 56.16
  • Fursedonne and Osborne kept it rolling for NSU with a third and second place finish in the 100 back and 500 free with times of 1:04.36 and 5:28.55
  • Emma Beavers closed out the induvial events with a third place finish, with a time of 1:15.31 in the 100 breast
  • The Wolves ended the day with a second place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:47.98; relay members include Fursedonne, Nynas, Finch, and Osborne
 
UP NEXT
Northern State is back at the pool to kick off Gypsy Days on Wednesday, October 2nd against Jamestown. The dual is set to begin at 6 p.m. from the Aberdeen YMCA.
