Levi Reis (men's track and field) and
Claire Zbylut (softball) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend.
Reis recorded a strong day in the javelin from the USD Early Bird with a personal record, school record, and nationally ranked toss. He took second and was the top Division II placer with his toss of 62.29m. The freshman broke the 2011 school record of 60.03m set by current throws coach
Jon Evenson. Reis ranks 18th in the country with his provisional mark.
Zbylut hit .391 with a .696 slugging percentage in the Wolves week against MSUM, USF, and WSC. She tallied nine hits, including two homeruns and one double. The senior led the team with seven RBI and added two runs scored and two stolen bases. In addition, Zbylut recorded a 1.000 field percentage with seven put outs and 23 assists. She notched three hits in two separate contests versus the Cougars and Wildcats.
