Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team was unable to avoid the sweep by St. Cloud State losing, 8-2 in the final game. The situational hitting by the Huskies made it difficult for the Wolves to overcome the deficit. NSU tallied eight runs off of 29 hits in the series.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Northern State was the first to score in the bottom of the first as Karson Hesser drove one down the left field line for a double that scored Nicholas Ochoa
• St. Cloud State responded back in the top of the fourth with two runs to take the lead
• The Huskies extended their lead in the fifth and seventh inning with two runs
• In the seventh inning, Brennan Phillips scored on a pass ball to cut the lead in half
• An explosive inning for the Huskies scored four runs in the eighth innings to lead by six
• The Wolves tallied two runs off of ten hits and one error along with three stolen bases
• Brenden Baxter recorded the loss in 6.0 innings pitched with one strikeout on the day
