Duluth, Minn. – The Northern State University baseball team fell to Minnesota Duluth, 8-6 Saturday night. The Bulldogs capitalized off of situational hits to take the win in the late innings.
Nicholas Ochoa led the day for the Wolves, going 4-for-5 with two doubles.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State was the first to score in the top of the first as Michael Benevides found a hole in the left side for a triple that scored Nicholas Ochoa
- On a ground out by Brennan Phillips, Benavides scored to lead by two in the top of the first
- Minnesota Duluth tallied one run in the bottom of the first and tied the game in the second inning
- Jack Weidner singled down the right field line while Phillips and Benevides scored in the top of the third inning
- The Bulldogs took the lead in the bottom of the third with a three-run homerun to lead by one
- Ochoa tied the game in the top of the fourth with a single that scored Friedges
- After a scoreless fifth inning, UMD took the lead with two runs in the sixth
- In the top of the seventh inning, Weidner singled to right field that scored Phillips to trail by one
- Minnesota Duluth extended their lead with one run in the bottom of the seventh
- The Wolves tallied five runs off of 15 hits with no errors and one stolen base
- In 5.0 innings pitched, Michael Chevalier recorded five strikeouts against 26 batters
