Wolves Fall Twice in Thursday Doubleheader Against Cougars

Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team dropped a pair of games against Sioux Falls by score of 3-1 and 6-2. Game one was a pitcher dual where the Cougars capitalized off situational hitting. The Wolves were unable to breakthrough in game two with only five hits to the Cougars' seven.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
  • Sioux Falls was the first to score in the bottom of the first with a single that scored one run
  • After five scoreless innings, the Cougars added two runs in the bottom of the sixth
  • Northern State tallied one run in the top of the seventh as Jack Weidner flied out to center field that scored Nick Friedges

  • On an error by the second baseman, Jack Weidner reached first base while Brennan Phillips scored in the top of the eighth
  • The Wolves recorded two runs off of five hits and four stolen bases with two errors
  • Cooper Tessendorf tallied the loss in the game in 5.0 with two strikeouts against 21 batters faced
  • In 2.0 innings of work, Daulton Vanderloo notched two strikeouts and allowed only one hit
