Wolves Suffer Pair of Losses to Cardinals in Non-Conference Double Header

Liberty, M.O. – The Northern State University baseball team was unable to  take a win in Saturday's double header against William Jewell, falling to the Cardinals 13-7 and 7-2. WJC out hit NSU 14-9 in the first game and 3-8 in the second game.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
  • Northern State was the first to score with Nick Fridges scoring on an error in the first inning
  • The Wolves added to their lead in the second inning as Nicholas Ochoa scored on a wild pitch
  • William Jewell responded back in the bottom of the second with three runs to put NSU behind by one
  • In the third inning, Ochoa drove one to left center to score Michael Benevides and Karson Hesser to put the Wolves ahead
  • The Cardinals added one run in the bottom of the third to tie the game
  • Jackson Meyer broke the tie after a single to center field to score Drew Benson in the top of the fourth
  • William Jewell stole the lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning
  • Benson chipped away from the deficit with a solo homerun to put the Wolves behind by two in the sixth inning
  • WJC extended their lead in the sixth inning with four runs
  • In the final inning of the game, Jordan Demarce drove one over the right field fence for solo homerun
