The Northern State University track and field teams compete from the Concordia Invite and Mt. SAC Relays on Friday. The Northern State throwers were in competition from Seward, Nebraska, while
Josh Martin and
Renea Taylor competed from Walnut, California. Results and information for tonight's Mt. SAC 5000m featuring
Jackson Harrison will be released tomorrow with the day two results from Concordia.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Nick Olson opened the Concordia Invite for the men with a 12th place finish in the hammer, throwing 49.13m
- Noah Ford threw to a fifth place finish in the javelin with a 46.11m toss, while Brady Rohrbach took 12th, throwing 42.24m
- Josh Martin ran to a tenth place finish in the 1500m at Mt. SAC, crossing the finish line in a new school record of 3:52.43
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Renea Taylor took on the 400m hurdles at Mt. SAC finishing 11th with a provisional time of 1:00.22 against a myriad of NCAA Division I talent
- Cassidy Gough kicked off the Concordia Invite taking third in the hammer with a 48.80m toss, while Shawney Coenraad took 13th, throwing 43.78m
- Gough went on to take eighth in the javelin, throwing 34.11m, followed by Addison Cumbow in 14th, throwing 31.66m
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Taylor crushed the NCAA provisional qualifying time by over two seconds and ranks fourth nationally in the event
- Martin breaks the 2006 school record in the 1500m of 3:54.58 set by Matt Walberg
UP NEXT
Northern State was set to host the Dewey Donat Classic next weekend, however spring weather altered those plans. The Wolves will now travel to the Red Raider Open set for Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22 in Orange City, Iowa.
