Warrensburg, Mo. – Defensive woes in both contests plagued Northern State University softball at Central Missouri on Tuesday afternoon. The Wolves fell to the Jennies with game scores of 8-6 and 10-2 in five innings. Northern tallied 12 hits in the two contests, however suffered four errors and nine unearned runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Northern tallied their six runs on eight hits with three errors, scoring two runs in the fourth and four in the sixth
- Central Missouri recorded eight runs on 11 hits with one error, scoring one run in the firth, three in the third and fourth, and one in the fifth
- Tevan Bryant and Liv Richardson notched the two runs in the fourth, each connecting for a homerun to right field
- Down 8-2 heading into the sixth, the Wolves rallied with four runs led off by Avarie Eagle with a single to left
- Eagle came around to score two at-bats later on a double by Bryant; Alexandria Arndt also scored on the play, bring the Wolves within four of the Jennies
- Emma Owens and Ashley Fauske scored the final two runs of the inning for the Wolves on an error by the second basemen and single by Lexi Chase
- Bryant and Claire Zyblut led the team with two hits apiece
- Abby Rux started for Northern State and suffered her third loss of the season, giving up seven runs (two earned) on eight hits with four strikeouts and four walks
- Chase entered to throw the final 2.2 innings and held the Jennies to three hits and one unearned run

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- The Wolves saw lower offensive production in game two with two runs on four hits in the five inning contest
- The Jennies tallied ten runs on 13 hits, scoring one in the first, three in the second, one in the third, three in the fourth, and two in the fifth
- Kamdyn Barrientos plated the Wolves first run of the contest in the top of the second on a double to left field, scoring Avarie Eagle
- Barrientos also scored the second and final run in the fifth on a solo homerun to center field
- Lexi Chase started in the circle, suffering her third loss of the season, giving up five earned runs on seven hits
- Meghan Anderson entered in the relief, tossing two innings with five runs (two earned), six hits, two walks, and two strikeouts

Northern will have a few days off before kicking off the MIAA/NSIC Crossover on Friday. The Wolves will face the Northeastern State Riverhawks in a double header beginning at 10 a.m. from Pittsburg, Kansas and the campus of Pitt State.
