Track and Field Teams in Third Following Day One of NDSU Bison Open

Fargo, N.D. – Northern State University kicked off their weekend at the NDSU Bison Open with both the men's and women's squads sitting in third place. The Northern men scored 39 points, while the women tallied 37 heading into day two.
 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Eli Radtke sits tenth in the heptathlon with 2,280 points; notching marks of 7.47 in the 60m, 5.82m in the long jump, 9.10m in the shot put, 1.74m in the high jump
  • Jacob Angerhofer won the 5000m run with a time of 15:58.72, while Ricardo Chase and Jalen Chase took fifth and sixth with times of 17:30.72 and 17:47.83
  • Blake Stoks and Dan Istvanovich took 11th and 14th in the 600m with times of 1:29.50 and 1:30.50
  • Josh Martin won the 1000m with a time of 2:34.16, followed by Jonathan Burkhalter in eighth with a time of 2:39.46
  • Joel Matehs added a ninth place finish in the 200m with a time of 22.79
  • Nick Olson took sixth in the weight throw, tossing 16.60m, followed by Brady Rohrbach  in 14th with a 13.77m throw
 
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Morgan Sheldon took 11th in the pentathlon with 2,934 points; recording marks of 9.59 in the 60m hurdles, 1.52m in the high jump, 9.14m in the shot put, 4.49m in the long jump, and 2:37.62 in the 800m
  • Jenna Helms and Kenzie Hamann took second and third in the 5000m with times of 20:18.90 and 20:41.51 respectively
  • Summer Carlson and Alli Jackson ran to ninth and 12th place finishes in the 600m with times of 1:41.81 and 1:42.87
  • Mary Franssen added a seventh place finish in the 1000m with a time of 2:59.36, followed by Megan Pickering with a time of 3:07.89 in 11th
  • Northern tallied two top-10 finishes in the 200m with Renea Taylor taking second with a time of 25.01 and Kyanna Collymore taking tenth with a time of 26.46
  • Cassidy Gough threw 15.69m in the weigh throw, taking tenth overall
  • Shawney Coenraad and Chrissy Stoltenburg took 14th and 16th in the weight with tosses of 13.90m and 13.51m
  • Kenzee Danielson led three Wolves in the top-10 of the pole vault, taking second with a 3.60m jump
  • Laci Leverty and Makenna Glanzer added seventh and eighth place finishes in the pole vault, clearing 3.30m and 3.15m

 
UP NEXT
Competition continues tomorrow at 11 a.m. with the heptathlon from the Bison Open. The full event slate opens at 12:30 p.m. with the 3000m.
