Mankato, Minn. – The Northern State soccer team snapped a ten-game losing streak to No. 18 Minnesota State on Sunday afternoon, battling to a 0-0 draw with the Mavericks. With today's draw, the Wolves have now tied in their last three conference matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alexus Townsend stopped Minnesota State's best scoring threat of the first half in the third minute, Townsend was able to corral a shot by Maille Mathis as the ball ricocheted off the top crossbar and bounced in front of the net
- Northern State's lone corner kick attempt of the game came in the 13th minute, the Wolves were unable to threaten to score from the set play as the Mavericks immediately took control of the pass from the corner
- Northern's offense pushed deep into Maverick territory multiple times late in the first half however they were unable to record a shot attempt
- The Mavericks once again placed another shot off the top crossbar in the 49th minute, this time from roughly 40 yards out by Brynn Desens
- DeAnna LeMire took NSU's first shot attempt of the game in the 55th minute, missing high over the net
- Minutes later in the 60th minute, LeMire recorded the Wolves first shot-on-goal of the game as she collected a pass from Calista Kocmick and headed a shot towards the bottom right corner of the net
- The Northern State defense stopped another Minnesota State scoring attack as the Wolves were able to stop three consecutive corner kicks for the Mavericks in the 67th and 68th minute
- Hannah Smith recorded her first shot attempt of the game in the 73rd minute, placing a shot-on-goal high and center on the net
- Townsend made one last critical save for the Wolves in the 87th minute, just getting a hand on a shot by Mathis and punching the ball over the top of the net
- Minnesota State held the advantage in shots (16-3), shots-on-goal (7-2), and corner kicks (12-1)
