Aberdeen, S.D. – Defense shined in Sunday afternoon's battle between in-state foes as Northern State and Augustana battled to a 0-0 draw. The draw marked the second consecutive tie in the series between Northern and Augie.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State was unable to capitalize off back-to-back corner kicks in the 16th and 17th minutes, Paige Johnson's shot on the second opportunity was deflected by an Augustana defender into the hands of the goalkeeper
- The Wolves best scoring opportunity of the first half came in the 40th minute when Summer Carlson placed a shot high on goal, forcing Augie keeper Jillian Barkus to jump and knock the ball over the net for an NSU corner kick
- The only NSU shot-on-goal in the second half came in the 78th minute as Avery Blasdel placed a shot on the bottom right corner of the net
- While NSU held the edge in shots (11-10), Augie had an advantage in shots-on goal (7-3) and corner kicks (6-5)
- Sunday's match was Northern State's third consecutive shutout and their fifth of the season
