Northern opens the season with a victory for the seventh consecutive season, dating back to 2015.

• Northern State's offense was aggressive in the early stages of the game, attempting four shots and two corner kicks in the first 15 minutes of play
• Mia Zagorski gave the Wolves a 1-0 lead in the 71^st minute, after cutting through the Yellowjacket defenders she placed the ball into the top-left corner of the net
• After a very closely contested first half where Northern State held a 7-6 shot advantage, the Wolves had to fend off a Yellowjacket attack in the second where they were outshot 11-4
• Alexus Townsend made two critical saves in the final 20 minutes of action to secure the victory, as Jillian Hust placed shot-on-goal attempts into the bottom-right and top-right corners of the net
• Overall MSUB outshot NSU 17-11 and held a 9-5 advantage in shots-on-goal; both teams each attempted four corner kicks
