Bismarck, N.D. – Northern State was able to overcome yesterday's defeats at UMary and claim a 4-1 victory over the Marauders in today's series finale. The win bumped Northern up one spot in the conference standings to ninth place with five games remaining in the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Northern State scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning as a single to second base by Karson Hesser allowed Reece Ragatz to cross home plate
• UMary tied the game at one in the top of the seventh inning when Derek Shoen singled up the middle to score Ty Jones
• Isaiah Chevalier gave the Wolves the lead for good in the bottom of the seventh as he reached home on a wild pitch
• Hesser added to the NSU lead later in the inning with a two RBI single to center field, scoring Spencer Sarringar and Jack Paulson
• Northern State scored their four runs on eight hits and committed one error defensively
• Max Otto recorded his tenth start of the season on the mound for Northern State, pitching six scoreless innings and striking out four batters
• Mike Stubbs earned his first win of the season on the mound after entering in relief in the seventh inning, pitching three innings and striking out five batters
