Northern State Softball Falls to Minnesota Duluth

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team fell twice to Minnesota Duluth on Tuesday afternoon from Koehler Hall of Fame Field. With the losses, Northern drops to 1-7 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.

  • Minnesota Duluth jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first, notching four runs off starter Abigail Rux
  • The Bulldogs added two runs in the second and one in the fourth, taking a 7-0 lead over the Wolves
  • Duluth sealed the run rule victory in the top of the sixth with a solo homerun
  • Rux suffered her seventh loss of the season in the game, while Shelby Novotny recorded the team's lone hit

  • UMD extended their lead in the top of the fifth, notching a solo homerun from Sidney Zavoral
