Aberdeen, S.D. - After being moved up a day to attempt to beat incoming weather, the Northern State and Wayne State baseball doubleheader has been canceled due to rain and will not be made up. Game one of the doubleheader got underway as scheduled, and the Wolves erupted with seven runs in the bottom of the first inning. The game entered a rain delay in the bottom of the fourth inning with NSU still up 7-3, however because the game did not reach the fifth inning it cannot be counted as an official game. Northern is back in action on Saturday when they host Minnesota State in a weekend series. The Wolves and Mavericks will start the series with a single game on Saturday night starting at 5 p.m. at Fossum Field, and will conclude with a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon starting at noon.
