Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team snapped their NSIC skid on Sunday, defeating the University of Sioux Falls on the road. The Wolves tallied 20 hits and scored ten runs between the two contests, going 1-1 on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- Northern State went on top early in game one, notching a run on a first and third situation in the top of the first from Ashley Fauske
- The Wolves tacked on two more runs in the third, as Kamdyn Barrientos singled down the right field line scoring Avarie Eagle and Liv Richardson
- Jessi Hernandez scored Northern's final run of the contest in the fourth, on a groundout to second by Richardson
- In total, NSU recorded their four runs on 11 hits with one error defensively
- Five Wolves recorded multiple hits in the contest and Meghan Anderson threw her seventh win of the season
- The junior tallied seven strikeouts, holding the Cougars to six hits in a full seven innings of work

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
- Sioux Falls jumped out to a 5-run lead through the first three innings in game two, however the Wolves began to chip away in the fourth
- Liv Richardson scored on an Alexandria Arndt single through the left side in the fourth, while Ashley Fauske and Shelby Novotny crossed home on a wild pitch and Richardson single in the fifth
- The Cougars tallied one run in the fourth and held a 6-3 lead over the Wolves heading into the final two innings of regulation
- Arndt scored on an error by the USF shortstop in the sixth and brought NSU within two, however a big sixth inning by the Cougars made all the difference in the game
- USF scored four runs in the sixth and the Wolves mounted a 2-run comeback in the seventh however it was not enough
- Richardson homered to deep center field, scoring Fauske for Northern's final runs of the contest
- Abigail Rux started for the Wolves, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits in her ninth loss of the season
- Reagan Elrod entered in relief, giving up six runs (four earned) on seven hits
