Wolves Softball Falls in Doubleheader at Colorado Mesa

Grand Junction, Colo. – The Northern State University softball team closed out their road trip Wednesday evening falling to Colorado Mesa University. The Wolves had their chances in both contests, leaving 12 total runners on base in 14 innings of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
  • Northern tallied four runs on six hits in the game one loss, falling in the bottom of the seventh on a walk-off, 1-out triple
  • The Wolves had their opportunities leaving six runners on base in the game, while also giving up two errors defensively
  • Claire Zbylut put NSU on the board in the top of the first with a single up the middle, scoring Hannah Smith
  • Colorado Mesa responded in the bottom of the frame, taking a 4-1 lead with three homeruns
